Rocky Road Rocoto
Species: Capsicum pubescens | Origin: UK | Pungency: Hot
Rocky Road Rocoto is a chilli variety which is exclusive to Sea Spring Seeds, a very popular and well respected seed merchant based in Dorset, England. The open-branched plants have a medium spreading growth habit and produce excellent yields of thick-walled, juicy peppers which start green and ripen to red. The ovoid-shaped fruits have an average size of approximately 4cm long by 3cm wide, but some may also grow to around 5cm long by 3.5cm wide. It is an easy Capsicum pubescens variety to grow and the plants perform very well outdoors here in North Wales during the growing season. Rocky Road Rocoto peppers are great for spicing up many types of food, such as stews, soups, salsas, sauces, stir fries, rice dishes, pasta dishes and casseroles.
Note: more photos will be added over the coming weeks. This plant was started later than my other two C. pubescens plants and some of the pods still haven't reached their full size.
