Filius Blue is an attractive ornamental variety with a compact bushy growth habit. It has purple and white coloured flowers and variegated purple and green coloured foliage. In 2021 it received the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit (AGM). The spherical-ovoid-shaped chillies start brilliant purple and ripen through orange and then to red. Sometimes this variety is mislabelled as 'Peruvian Purple', which is an upright growing ornamental variety from Peru with variegated purple and green coloured foliage, purple flowers and ovoid-shaped chillies which start black and ripen to red.
